H. P. Lovecraft spent his life in obscurity, publishing mostly in the pulp magazine "Weird Tales," and died in poverty. Recognition came only after death. He has influenced numerous writers, musicians, and film makers including Stephen King, Neil Gaiman, William S. Burroughs, Ramsay Campbell and Caitl n R. Kiernan.
